The Screen Repair Patch
The Adhesive Screen Repair Patch is the fastest, most affordable way to repair smaller rips, tears and holes in your window screens. The process is as easy as 1-2-3 peeling off the back and sticking it over the hole in the screen.
A typical screen replacement done by a screen repair shop could run you anywhere from $15 to $45 for small to average window screens, and even more for sliding screen doors. And with the cost of an adhesive screen patch (www.screenpatch.com) at approximately .50 - you're savings are considerable over an entire screen replacement.
Screen Repair
The process of replacing a screen intails the removal of the enitire screen spline from the aluminum frame. Pulling out the old damaged screening and throwing them away, so we don't get them confused with the new materials that we will be installing.
Then after cleaing the frame and the spline groove, placing a new peice of screen over the frame with the spline groove facing upward. Be sure to leave at least a minimum of 2-3 inches of screen hanging over ever side of the screen frame, because the screen tends to be pulled a little bit in the direction of the screen spline that you are rolling into the frame.
Then you want to pre-roll the screening in the frame before splinning it in so that you are sure everything is running smoohtly and your screening is straight. I use the actual screenning itself to line it up with the frame and follow it always as I'm rolling the screen into the frame.
Then once everything is in its place, you can beging to roll very carefully, the screen spline into the frame of the screen. pressing just hard enough to secure the spline into to frame. The roller tool will have a tendancy to want to roll off the job and knock out your screen, be aware of this and anticipate it so you may be able to prevent it from happening.
Once you've rolled the entire ascreen in, you can cut the extra pline off on the end and you are done. Do an idiot check to see if you've missed anything. and make sure the screen is moderately tight, but not too tight, and you should be good to go.
HOWEVER, If you do not want to go through this enitre process of screen replacement, and you hole, tear or rip is smaller than 3" - you can buy a Screen Patch at www.screenpatch.com and peel and stick it over the hole in about 5 seconds, be done.
